There's more to life than just to live :)

Elementary Days :)

A while ago, my classmate/best friend in elementary gave me a call. That was just surprising because after how many years, I was able to hear his voice and it changed a lot. It was actually our first time to chat after our elementary graduation since we lost contacts for some reasons.

Funny thing was we're too comfortable during our conversation which was a total opposite incident when we parted ways back then. Yeah! Because we got some problem about unluckily-I'm-in-love-with-my-best-friend thingy. Hahaha. But because we're now way mature than before and the issue didn't matter at this point, we could already talk and laugh about it. Then again, it's a bit awkward since he was recalling how we made each other cry, how we acted whenever we got jealous and made peace after those childish fights. How embarrassing! Hahaha. And now, here he is, got some problem with the girl he likes and asking for some advices which I can't really give because it's not even therapeutic in nursing. Hehe. Just told him that he has to make a good decision and he got me as his back-up. And here I'm now, being harassed by my elementary best friend to spill everything about my non-existing love life and being told that he's willing to break any stupid jerk who are going to hurt me. That's more horrible than being sweet, seriously. Hahaha. After all, we've been friends. We're friends. And forever will be friends. Everything changed, in a better way of course. And I'm glad.

And everything follows. Flashbacks. Waaa! Life's easier back then. There were just few, petty things I had to be concerned about. I miss my school, my red and white uniform, my teachers, my classmates, and friends. I'm being nostalgic again. Hehehe :)

January 22, 2011

  • I woke up early, prepared myself and went to school to attend a seminar about Critical Care Nursing. It was pretty interesting but I ended up chatting with my seatmate during the half of the seminar. The seminar went well and decided to go home.
  • No, not really to go straight home but I went out to buy some DVDs. But before that, a good friend of mine sent me a message to inform me that APPLE was in the library. And because I’m this desperate-girl-who-would-do-all-just-to-see-this-cute-guy-she’s-been-stalking-for-months (that was a long adjective hahaha), I went to library and checked him there. And as an excuse, I even borrowed a book which at least caught my interest. Hmm. So, I saw him there and I was happy like a stupid 6th grade who topped the class for the first time of her life. :p
  • Fai, Anne and I went to the hospital to look after our letter for our case finding. We waited for almost an hour, got back our letter and still can’t have a case finding since the letter was not yet completely signed by the training nurse of the hospital.
  • There I saw meters away from me, this-cute-guy-I’ve-been-stalking-for-months walking in my direction. And I was faking a calm expression when deep inside I’m already hyperventilating. Hahaha. For exaggeration purposes only. :p No. No. No. He’s no Brad Pitt or Leonardo DiCaprio or some-totally-gorgeous-guy-who-can-make-tame-girls-go-wild. I’m super duper happy! :p
  • Finished the Korean drama Mary Stayed Out All Night. Kyaa!~ It was a happy ending, of course. And though with long hair, I still love Jang Geun Suk.
  • I watched Easy A and thumbs up for that movie. I love you Olive Penderghast! :))
Today was a blast <3

Drama Review: God of Study

At last, I have finished watching this Korean drama and as expected, I do like it. Though this one was different from others I have watched because this drama was about school. Yes, SCHOOL! The cruelty of life as an adolescent, surviving a life without parents and with parents who don't even support you, the pressure from teachers, books and exams, facing your fears, taking risks, being optimistic, meeting people who would change your life for better, the struggle to meet true friends and the first heart break. These sum up the story. And don't forget the exciting twists of the drama and lesson you will learn while watching it.

One of the many things I love about this drama was that letting me realized that we don't study to go to known schools, nor to be recognized by others but we go to school to learn about life, to know how to overcome hardships, to meet people you wouldn't expect changing your life and eventually to realize what we really want and pursuing it because we like it, not because it was imposed by our parents or other people around us. To reach our dream which really makes us happy and to realize our capabilities because of the problems we're encountering each day.

Kyaaa~! :))

Emergency Medical Response - B Traning

January 17-20, 2011

It was a blast! Very tiring yet euphoric and enjoyable training. Especially the simulation, I almost strained my limbs because of carrying too heavy patients. But I haven't thought about it during the simulation, what we were thinking was to try our best and do each duty properly. I'm soo happy because I also met new friends. Indeed, the training was a success :)

MANILA, Philippines - "What's your sign?"

You think it's an easy question to answer, right? However, a story published Sunday by an American news site has netizens scrambling to find if they have the correct answer.

A story by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star-Tribune published on Sunday quoted Parke Kunkle, a board member of the Minnesota Planetarium Society, saying that the zodiac signs as we know it are off by a month.

It revealed a 13th sign -- Ophiuchus -- representing a man wrestling a serpent.

The sign was discarded by the Babylonians, because "they wanted only 12 signs per year," the Star-Tribune story said.

The slow but continuous movement of Earth and the sun adjusted the alignment of the constellations, thus the 13th sign was born, Kunkle said.

"It is the only sign of the zodiac linked to real men, sharing traits with Imhotep, a 27th century BCE Egyptian doctor, and biblical Joseph," reports TIME magazine.

The "new" zodiac dates are as follows:

Capricorn: Jan. 20 - Feb. 16

Aquarius: Feb. 16 - March 11

Pisces: March 11- April 18

Aries: April 18 - May 13

Taurus: May 13 - June 21

Gemini: June 21 - July 20

Cancer: July 20 - Aug. 10

Leo: Aug. 10 - Sept. 16

Virgo: Sept. 16 - Oct. 30

Libra: Oct. 30 - Nov. 23

Scorpio: Nov. 23 - Nov. 29

Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 - Dec. 17

Sagittarius: Dec. 17 - Jan. 20

Kunkle, meanwhile, clarified horoscope readings for each zodiac signs should not be affected by the Earth's new alignment. Wobbling Earth However, this "news," which went viral on the web the past week, is not new, and has an actual scientific explanation.

"This story is born periodically as if someone has discovered some truth. It's not news," Jeff Jawer, an astrologer with Tarot.com, told CNN's This Just In blog. A Live Science article back in October 2007 reported the phenomenon of "precession."

The phenomenon refers to the wobbling of the Earth on its axis in a 25,800-year cycle. The wobbling is caused by the "gravitational attraction of the Moon on Earth's equatorial bulge. "

"Over the past two-and-a-half millennia, this wobble has caused the intersection point between the celestial equator and the ecliptic to move west along the ecliptic by 36 degrees, or almost exactly one-tenth of the way around. This means that the signs have slipped one-tenth—or almost one whole month—of the way around the sky to the west, relative to the stars beyond," the LiveScience article said.

Therefore, the article said, the zodiac signs we all associate our birthdates which are based on the "position of the sun relative to constellations as they appeared 2,200 years ago."

No change

Therefore, are you now officially an Ophiuchus and not a Sagittarius? Not really.

The CNN article explained that if people "adhered to the tropical zodiac - which, if they're a Westerner, they probably did – absolutely nothing has changed for them."

"That's because the tropical zodiac – which is fixed to seasons, and which Western astrology adheres to – differs from the sidereal zodiac – which is fixed to constellations and is followed more in the East, and is the type of zodiac to which the Star Tribune article ultimately refers," the CNN post said.

However, the fact that the sun isn't aligned anymore with the constellations at certain times of the year compared to millennia ago is "irrelevant for the tropical zodiac," which was codified for Western astrology by Ptolemy in the 2nd century, Jawer told CNN.

The article explained that in the tropical zodiac, the start of Aries is fixed to one equinox, and Libra the other.

"When we look at the astrology used in the Western world," Jawer told CNN, "the seasonally based astrology has not changed, was never oriented to the constellations, and stands as … has been stated for two millenniums."

"Astrology is geocentric. It relates life on Earth to the Earth’s environment, and seasons are the most dramatic effect, which is why we use the tropical zodiac," Jawer added.

I'm no longer a Sagittarian but Scorpio. And when I read Scorpio's personality trait, okey, I was lost. Hahahaha.

Saengil Chukkha Hamnida :))

It's just days passed since I have added this guy to my "cute-korean-boys-I-like list" after falling in love with his drama "My girlfriend is a Gumiho". I admit that he's not super duper cute like others whom I am admiring. But there's something with those worth-staring eyes, cute dimples and cheerful personality. Waaah! really like him. And I have read several blogs telling that he's so nice and hardworking. He's a good singer, actor, CF model, MC and STUDENT. And also, he's a good son and friend (according to fans and fellow netizens). That's why, I came to say that he really deserves that Hallyu Honorary Award that was given to him on his birthday. Kyaa~! Chukkhaeyo oppa!

But that's not it, today is his 24th (25th) birthday! Saengil Chukkha hamnida Seung Gi oppa. You're doing good in your career and I'm hoping that you will have a more successful career in show business and in school. AJA AJA! Hwaiting! :)

Drama Review: My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

I really really love this drama. Nomu nomu nomu nomu nomu nomu nomu nomu nomu chuahae! :)

Nice story, nice couple, nice ending! Waaaa! It didn't disappoint me after watching it. Hayyy! Lee Seung Gi and Shin Min Ah made a very cute couple. My heart almost sinked whenever they're so sweet. Ahhhhh! I want to watch it again and again. And the story will surely teach you about family, life, fear and of course, LOVE. Cha Dae Woong (Lee Seung Gi) changed a lot because of love. And Gu Mi Ho (Shin Min Ah) is soooo adorable all the time. And one of the villains in the story, Park Dong Joo (No Min-woo) is a hottie. Hahahahaha.

The OST's very nice! Two thumbs up for this!
